Priyanka reiterates that at the end of the day, it’s the ‘hit’ which matters and not how you got it. “You either have a hit or you don’t. If others in the industry don’t perceive it that way it’s their problem. You were in a hit film, right? End of the story. Take Agneepath for that matter. I would call it a Rishi Kapoor hit also. He was awesome in it. Even Priyanka Chopra who had only 10 to 12 scenes made such an impact. It’s her hit as well.”
She is a yakker bomb and in her chatterbox way segues into a funny story about Priyanka. “We come from a typical Punjabi family so my Dadi used to have long, oiled hair and she used to tie a parandi to it. Now Priyanka and I used to take her parandi and tie it to our hair and pretend that we had long hair too. So one day in all her excitement she went to Dadi swinging her parandi and asked, ‘How do you like my hair Dadi?’ The parandi hit grandmother spat on her face. Priyanka cried her heart out thinking she’d hurt Dadi but the whole household cracked up.” She reminisces that Priyanka and she were always goofing around together and getting into all sorts of trouble. And that Priyanka always did her own thing even then. “What Priyanka tells me again and again is just be yourself. Don’t go by some rule book. People will tell you wear this and say that but you always do what you believe is right.”
