MUMBAI: It’s demolition time for the irrepressible Parineeti Chopra. After playing the bindaas tomboyish characters in ‘Ladies Versus Rickie Behl’ and ‘Ishaqzaade’, Parineeti is all set for a glorious glamorous makeover.
And how! In Shaad Ali’s ‘Kill Dill’ Parineeti is cast as an ultra-glamorous diva, on the lines of Ketherine Heigl in the Gerard Butler rom-com ‘The Ugly Truth’. Parineeti who confesses to not being “much of a dresser” is enthused by the challenge of the transformation. More so since Shaad has appointed his new bride Aarti Patkar to do Parineeti’s styling.
The two ladies, we are told, would be going shopping all over India and Europe to give Parineeti ‘The Look’.
Says a source close to the project, “It’s an ultra-glam role. Parineeti has the image of a non-glamorous actress. Shaad wants to break that. In ‘Kill Dill’ she plays what Rekha excels at. The clothes would have to reflect a high-maintenance lifestyle which Parineeti is not fully comfortable with. For now her casuals would have to go. She’d be dressed formally even offscreen to remain in character.”
Parineeti sounded characteristically excited by the challenge of the makeover. “I really can’t talk much about my role. But yes, it will see me transform into someone else. It’s my first glam role. I’ll try to look my best. I want to break my image of the traditional salwar-kameez clad girl. I love Indian clothes. But I can also carry off Western clothes. And that’s what I’m going to wear in ‘Kill Dill’. But I won’t be just a showpiece in ‘Kill Dill’. I’ve a lot to do in the plot.”
She can’t stop her excitement about Shaad’s film. “Recently Ranveer Singh and I were at Shaad’s wedding. And we couldn’t stop talking about ‘Kill Dill’. We just didn’t care about Shaad’s wedding. He was very miffed. ‘Meri shaadi hai. Give me some importance.’ I was like, go away. Ranveer and I are very energetic .We hope to bring our collective energy to ‘Kill Dill’. Ranveer and I keep telling Shaad, ‘Ab shaadi ho gayi. Jaldi film shuroo karo.”
