Parineeti Chopra Is An Acting Power-House

Being Priyanka Chopra's cousin, one might think, would stoop someone's shoulders a bit with the weight of expectation that come with it. But Parineeti stands her own ground. Parineeti Says "I’m curious as to why she hasn’t moved out of the YRF cradle. She says she would love to do a film outside it.  “Actually it’s a coincidence that my third film is also with YRF. In my first film LVRB, I was in a supporting role. Then Aditya Chopra had a great script with a lead role for me and I did Ishaqzaade. Then Maneesh, who launched me in LVRB, wanted me to do his next so I said yes. In my contract there is nothing that binds me to YRF. I would love to do UTV, Dharma and Excel films. Tell them to give me good scripts. Nothing exciting has come to me so far.”

Maybe the industry is still waiting and watching. Maybe the industry doesn’t know how to pigeonhole her, considering she’s maintained that she wants meaty roles and doesn’t want to be stuck with arm candy stuff. Maybe she doesn’t want to be sidelined as another Khan heroine. Parineeti minds her ps and qs in her reply. She says it all depends on the script and the nature of the film. “Dabangg revolved around Salman Khan and similarly Rowdy Rathore revolved around Akshay Kumar. But in Ek Tha Tiger both Salman and Katrina Kaif had more or less equal roles. Then there’s Cocktail where Deepika Padukone had a better role than Saif Ali Khan. In RA.One too, Kareena Kapoor had a good role. So this notion isn’t true about all films.”
